Big Coats and Shades

Saturday 27 February 2016
Winter is sadly still upon us which means it's not time to put away those winter clothes just yet! Don't get me wrong I love a big coat and a killer pair of boots but I am looking forward to not having over 464 layers on me. Spring is only round the corner and I haven't even updated my wardrobe yet! But finally there is some sun so this means I can wear my sunnies without people judging me (Sunglasses are not just for summer people!!!!!!!) I'm slowly but surely building the collection from Ray ban's to Pradas and everything inbetween. A girl can never have too many pair of sunglasses! For now I'm just going with the big coat and some statement shades until it gets hotter and I can ditch all the layers and a coat.

Checked Shirt and Rips

Wednesday 24 February 2016
I have been meaning to do an outfit post for a while now but I still haven't fixed my camera and life has been so hectic that I've ended up delaying it. Luckily I get half day on Fridays and thought it would be the perfect time to take some pictures and upload my first fashion post. Working in Covent Garden is an absolute delight it's so central has great shops and so many cute places to take pictures. I loved shooting this outfit at first I felt quite nervous, I felt like people was constantly watching but after 5 minutes I was so into it and loving life haha.

I loved this look it's so relaxed and chic! I sported a checkered navy shirt and a pair of black ripped jeans both from H&M. I love a good shirt you can wear them in so many different ways, they can easily be dressed up and dressed down. I love my dark colours and I do find it so hard to part from them (especially black!!) Black is seriously my go-to colour I can't fault it! It's so slimming and stylish. So navy was about as colourful as I was going to be getting! Maybe in spring I will add some colour to my wardrobe. I paired the shirt and jeans with a Zara leather jacket that I got back in late August. I love this jacket so so much, I've got so much wear out of it and it never fails to get compliments. I got these boots in Zara last week after being on a huge hunt for some low black leather boots for a decent price and of course Zara saved the day! I used my all time favourite Zara bag that Aleks got me for christmas. This bag is so fab I remember it being the last one in regent street and I was dragging Aleks down the street like a crazy woman because I had wanted it for so long haha! I changed into  these little Zara courts that I purchased in Rome. You can purchase these items below.

Hope you enjoyed reading this, more to come very soon! Love GC Xx

Hair Saviour

Charles Who?
Charles Worthington Duhhh! Being a girl comes with many responsibilities such as skincare, makeup, tanning and of course hair. I love finding a new product that I instantly love. I have been incredibly lazy with my hair in the past, before I started to treat my hair it was so lifeless and dull. My hair had zero volume and was so dead and full of split ends. I then started to realise that this just would not do and that my hair needed a total makeover! I got bored of the blonde it was washed out and my hair couldn't possibly look glossy. So back to brunette I went!

My newest obsession is Charles Worthington! Many of you may already use these amazing products but if you don't you really should! What I love about this brand is how diverse it is, if you want incredibly smooth straight hair or bouncy hair that is full of life you are sure to get this from these products.
Volume & Bounce Range
Red carpet blowdry? Look no further with these products you can create the perfect blowdry that stays for days. I started with the shampoo and conditioner and instantly loved the way it made my hair feel. It felt 10x more alive and added bounce and there was no frizz in site. I moved onto the blowdry primer as I had heard really fab things. I sprayed onto my damp hair and began my blowdry it sped up the process and gave it that salon bounce! I love the volume and bounce hairspray it's light and brushes out easily not leaving behind that horrible crispy residue. I have recently tried the thick and full boosting creme and cant fault it! It adds structure and gives your hair that lift that you need for the perfect blowdry. All of these products work perfectly with curling tongs! (Looking to post some pictures of my end result of my blowdry in a few days!!)
Shine Booster Range
If you love shiny and sleek hair this range is perfect for you! The shampoo and conditioner is amazing my hair feels so smooth after I use it and always has a perfect shine. I normally wear my hair straight when I use these products and go over it with the gloss spray.

Thicker & Fuller Range
Okay so this product is my absolute hero! Thin and damaged hair? look no further! I cannot even begin to explain how amazing these products are. I was super skeptical about this and if it would even work. After a few weeks of using the products on my hair it definitely started to feel healthier and a tiny bit thicker. Now 3 months later my hair feels longer and thicker and full of life! It feels totally refreshed and I can't believe the difference this has made to my hair. I can't even tell you how many times I have been asked if I have had extensions put in haha its fab! You use the shampoo and conditioner like normal and then apply the tonic into your scalp. This is a must buy if you lack that fuller and thicker look!

Style Setter - Dry Shampoo
And last but not least my go-to...My dry shampoo! This is a handbag must, it's small and is perfect for whenever my hair just needs that boost. It blends in really well and smells great.
I really hope you enjoyed reading about my fave products and hopefully you can try them out for yourselves and see the same results I have seen!

Greens are Groovy

Wednesday 17 February 2016
The biggest struggle for me every year is that one thing that 99.9% of us despise.... the dreaded DIET!!!! Every year I say to myself "Okay Grace here are your new year's resolutions...1.Eat Clean and 2. Sign up to a gym (There are many more that I never end up following so I won't bore you with those!) Every year I become this fitness freak for about a week I eat clean and work out and suddenly think I am a Trained Athlete (Embarrassing I know) and then I get lazy again and start complaining about not being in the shape I want. So this year I have decided I actually need to stick to a diet which suits me and work out whenever I have the time. I visited Ibiza last year and I packed a ton of bikinis and never wore a single one as every time I looked in the mirror I just stared at my hips and my stomach and just wasn't pleased with my appearance. So of course it was the hero swimming costumes that saved the day! But this year I want to be able to wear whatever I want and feel comfortable. When I get rambling I just cant stop so sorry in advance for future posts. Any who back to the diet that I will actually enjoy and not scowl at the dingy lettuce and tomato salad that I grab out of the fridge on my lunch break.

Throughout my blog I will post some of my fave dishes that satisfy my cravings and that are on the healthy side! And just to mention I am no health or food expert but these are foods that work for me. I can enjoy them and not feel guilty!

Here are just some pictures of some recent dishes I threw together (Excuse the pictures need to fix my camera asap!) As you can see I love my greens, there is so much you can do with them to make them to make them exciting and full of flavour. One of my favourite vegetables is kale if you haven't jumped on the bandwagon then your missing out big time. I like to fry my kale instead of boil it gives it more flavour and crisps up the edges. I always use a small bit of extra virgin olive oil with some garlic salt and chili flakes. You can add in some onions too for more flavour. When cooking use quite a fair bit of kale as it does shrink and do not have the pan on too high as it will burn and no one likes burnt food!!!! This goes perfectly with poached eggs.I enjoy eating fish as it's very light so by the time I get home I don't have to worry about a heavy meal sitting on my stomach. Zucchini is always a winner for me especially in extra virgin olive oil, fresh garlic and herbs. When I am at work I normally have a tin of tuna with avocado with fresh lemon and a drizzle of oil! it's easy and fills you up. The final picture is the roast i cooked on sunday, not exactly healthy but it was so damn good so I'm gonna put it on here anyway!
I will be uploading more dishes I enjoy in the future that are light and easy to cook and wont leave you feeling bloated! Hope you enjoyed reading! Love GC Xxx

Day and Night Skin Routine

Sunday 7 February 2016
My Go-to Skin Products!
I have always been super lucky with my skin as I never really got spots which I feel so blessed about (Thank you up there!) The only small problems I ever had was my skin being so so dry and sometimes I would get red patches on my face as it could be sensitive to some creams or makeup. After a while I got quite frustrated with the dryness of my skin and any makeup I would put on would look patchy. I was browsing around boots and a woman from Clinique asked if I needed any help so she booked me in for a skin consultation. I ended up buying the '3 Step - Very Dry to Dry Skin' After 2-3 weeks I could see a huge change in my skin it felt super hydrated and not tight and uncomfortable. I carried on using it for a while but it started to make my skin feel dry and the toner would feel far too harsh on my skin. After some research it seems that many people had problems with the Clinique 3 Step skin routine so that was that I ditched Clinique! Then the quest began again but now I have found some products that are really working for me so I just had to share!

Step 1. Micellar Water by Garnier
I remove all makeup with this Micellar water with a cotton pad, I love this stuff it gets my makeup off in a couple of wipes it also feels so soft and refreshing on the skin!

Step 2. Sanctuary Radiance Exfoliator
I use this maybe twice or three times in a week mainly in the night as in the morning I am running round like a headless chicken as I have overslept my alarm (Oooops) I use my fingers and massage the exfoliator into my face and round the creases on my nose to get to them pesky blackheads!!! Then I just wash off with cold water.
Step 3. Sanctuary Pore Refining Toner
As you can see I do like abit of Sanctuary! I love this toner so so much its light and not harsh on your skin. I apply with a cotton pad!
Step 4. Body Shop Vitamin  C  Moisturiser
Praise god I found this! I am beyond obsessed with this cream its amazing. Really wakes your skin up and leaves it feeling glowy and hydrated! I just apply this with the tips of my fingers and massage into my face.
Step 5.Body Shop Vitamin C Spritz
After using the body shop cream and dying at how fab it was my boyfriend's mum went into The Body Shop and picked up some of this energizing face spray and its just as amazing as the moisturiser. I take this in my handbag wherever I go and I can just top up whenever my skin is feeling tired or dull!
Night Time Routine
My Nighttime Skin Routine is pretty much the same thing I just use a different moisturiser before I sleep and maybe use a face mask now and again.

Night Cream - Vichy Idealia Skin Sleep
Love love love this it keeps my skin hydrated whilst i'm snoozing and I always wake up in the morning feeling fresh with baby soft skin and NO dryness!
Sanctuary Charcoal Face Mask
All us ladies love a good face mask and this one is definitely one of my new faves! I Picked up some of the travel sachets and was mega excited to try. The mask felt so nice as it heated up on my face it was easy to apply and covered my face generously. I washed it off with cold water after 5 minutes, it came off nice and easy and no mess. Would highly recommend this product if you fancy having some me time! So kick back and relax with a sanctuary face mask and spend some time on YOU!!!

Ciao Bella!

Rome Rome Rome!
So I have been meaning to start up my blog again but I guess I just haven't really been doing anything exciting to start one! My life recently has just been lazing around then working and then repeat! So when I decided to book a weekend getaway to Rome for my boyfriends birthday I realised this would be the perfect time to start up my blog again.
Before deciding where to go away I had a few options in mind.. Amsterdam, Paris, Rome, Barcelona? After long consideration I decided that Rome would be perfect as I have never been to Italy and being a major foodie (who loves Italian) that it would be the perfect destination.

Day 1 ; Pt 1 Rooftops and Pizza!

Catching the 06:55 Flight to Fiumicino to make sure we had as much time in Rome as possible. Once at Fiumicino we got a train into Roma Termini which took around 30 minutes (It is called the Leonardo Express prices at €14 per ticket) we arrived at our hotel at around 13:00 un packed and got out as soon as possible as the weather was beautiful.  We went down to this little roof top restaurant overlooking the Spanish steps (which sadly was under construction) called Il Palazzetto, Luckily the sun was out and was actually really warm for January! I would highly recommend going here to anyone the Coronas were priced at about €10 and the Pizza €10-€16

Jumper - H&M

Day 1; Pt 2 Vatican City & Trevi Fountain
After grabbing lunch we headed down into Vatican City via taxi...as being newbies we had no idea where to walk and didn't trust our sense of direction. Taxis vary around €10 - €20 wherever you go the meter will always start on €3 then after 10pm the meter will start on €6 which goes up very quickly! So to avoid paying an overpriced cab fare try and walk!
After 15 minutes we had arrived at our destination... St Peters Basilica! It was stunning even better than the pictures! The details on the inside and the outside of the building was incredible.
You can go up to the top of St. Peter's basilica via a lift (charges €7) that will take you up 3 very high floors then you must walk the rest, if you do not like small spaces Then I advise maybe not going up there as the staircase can get very small at times but when you get to the top it's amazing the view is worth all of the steps!

Day 2; Pt 1 Colosseum & Gelato
After a long snooze in our fancy hotel (I will add link at the end) we decided to take a walk down to the Trevi Fountain and the Colosseum. The Trevi fountain was fab! It does get very busy so just make sure you grab a good place to take some pictures!
We took a short walk down to The Colosseum and as expected it was heaving with people! We found some American tour guides who charged a fee of €25 per person to que jump and be given a guided tour with lots of history about the colosseum which was super interesting and i came back knowing a far lot that I did before!

You can get tickets for Cheaper for around €12 but you will have to que for 45 minutes to an hour. On the way back to our hotel we stopped off at a little hidden gelatiera (ice cream shop) for some gelato! I got pane cotta, mint chocolate chip & Nutella at €3.50

Day 2; Pt 2 Shopping in Rome

The shopping is just amazing here I recommend saving before you go so you can have a nice little spend up in the beautiful stores! Of course you have stores like Gucci, Chanel, Herve leger and Valentino ( this is the biggest Valentino in the world it's a must go to!!) and you will also have stores such as Zara, mango, Aldo and little Italian boutiques which have the loveliest clothes that you can guarantee no one will have back home!  I will post some lovely pictures of the items I purchased in Rome!

Day 2; Pt 3 Truffle Pasta in Travestere
After getting dressed up Aleks and I grabbed a taxi over the water to Travestere to go for dinner at a restaurant called Da Massi (recommended by one of the workers in our hotel ) it was a small restaurant filled with locals! (That's how you know the food is good! ) we ordered a bottle of Pinot Grigio some bruschetta, calamari and tiger prawns for starters I ordered a truffle and mushroom pasta and Aleks had a carbonara and finally for dessert a tiramisu!
After Dinner we headed to Hotel Du Russi for some drinks in the delightfully chilled Stravinskij Bar! The Bar is a stunning courtyard, like a scene from Romeo and Juliet! The menu is quite pricey the cheapest bottle of wine is €55 and cocktails around €22 the staff was ever so delightful and so attentive! You get lots of treats with your drinks such as mini burgers and chilli coated pistachios! This place is such a must in summer or winter!

  • Pack light as you will most likely end up buying lots of clothes
  • Be careful of pick pockets, just keep your bag close
  • Sight see as much as you can
  • And most importantly eat your weight in gelato!
