Dubai blog
Hello lovelies! So I recently got back from Dubai with
Madison and it really was the trip of a life time. I've wanted to visit Dubai
for such a long time and when we finally booked it we could not wait. Before I
went I searched online for blogs for ideas of what to do/ where to eat / where
to party etc... I couldn't really find too much online just a bundle of amazing
pictures, so I decided I would write up a little blog of my experience here and
what I liked and didn't like.
06:00am Madisons annoying Alarm is going off and I'm not sure
if it's just me but I just don't get that excitement anymore... you know the
one you used to get when you was a kid. Any who we dosed up on Starbucks and we
strolled through the airport, killed some time grabbed some food and drank some
g&ts in true airport tradition. We flew with emirates and our flights was
just over £350 (we booked around 5 months before) It was the first time I had
flown with emirates and it was such a chilled journey. Tons of films, wi-fi, tv
and comfy seats (thank god) after 7 hours we finally arrived in Dubai. Now we were
excited and couldn't wait to get out in the heat.
We were staying in the Marina in the Wyndham. The room was
lovely and had an amazing view of the marina and JBR beach. From the airport it
took around 30/40 minutes and the cab fare was around 65 dirhams (£13) the cabs
in Dubai are SUPER cheap so don't stress out about paying for them.. oh and the
air con in them is bliss.
The first night we went to a new club called BASE. It's
an outside club that has no roof it was the most insane thing I have ever been
too. They have performers in most of the clubs in Dubai and Tyga was there when
we went.

Hungover and quite unstable the next day we woke up late
(shock horror) and wanted to just chill at the beach so we headed to JBR which
was around 10 minutes from us. We bought a double sunbed and just chilled out
but we spent most of the day laying where the tide came in as it was just too
hot on the bed. There's a obstacle course at JBR called aqua fun and it's
literally the funniest thing I can't even recall how many times I fell in... Highly
embarrassing.
Second night we booked Nobu which is based over in Atlantis
the Palm. This place was the MOST insane thing; the giant fish tank was
memorising and looks unreal in pictures. The food in Nobu was unbelievable, I
had the black cod for a main and Madison had some sort of beef dish. Nobu
wasn't cheap so if you go just bare that in mind, but it was amazing and I
would 100% recommend.
After Nobu we went to a club called billionaire which was
quite small but soooo much fun. Make sure you take your ID to the club/beach
clubs as they have a age policy and if you don't have it you probably won't be
getting in. Drinks were around £20 for a double.
Monday we went to ASIA ASIA for dinner which was based in
the marina in Pier 7. The food was amazing but the view was even better. You’re
surrounded by lit up sky scrapers and huge yachts. We sat on the terrace which
was pretty warm as there was no air con but you adjust to the heat and it's SO
worth the view. After we went to the bar at the top called Aetlier M and had
some shisha whilst they played some kind of Arabic house music. The scenery was
unbelievable you feel like you’re in the clouds. This turned into a regular
spot after dinner as it was so close to our hotel.
Tuesday it was my birthday and we went to zero gravity which
is based in JBR. If you’re planning on going I would get there nice and early
and grab a bed. We were waking up late every day and by the time we arrived all
the beds had been snatched. After a few hours we decided to
Go to Nikki Beach, this was a good 40 minutes away but was
the MOST amazing place. The views were insane. White sand, clear water and an
amazing sunset. It was definitely my favourite place in Dubai the vibe and
music was amazing.

We went to the mall of emirates on one of the days and don't
get me wrong it was stunning but shopping really is the last thing you want to
be doing in Dubai. Clothes are more expensive there too so if you’re planning
on buying some new bits for your wardrobe you may as well just get them in the
UK. The mall is huge and there's an even bigger one based in downtown Dubai
(The Dubai Mall)

We booked 40 Kong for the Thursday night but it was closed
for Ramadan so we went to OKKU instead. Based in the H hotel in downtown Dubai.
We went to the Conrad after and had some drinks in VII which was beautiful.

On the Friday we booked brunch at Hakkasan which was priced
at 420 AED. (£90) You could pick 4 fried starters, 4 dim sum, a main and pick a
desert oh and unlimited alcohol! The restaurant was beautiful but it was very
quiet as Ramadan started the following day. We visited the Burj Khalifa after
which was fab.
Before I went to Dubai I had so many questions like ... what
can I wear? Is it strict? Is it expensive? Will I get in trouble if I'm really
drunk? How hot is it?
In regards to clothing it's not as strict as everyone made
it out to be. Obviously in your hotels it's fine but don't walk in a bikini
through the lobby to get to the pool, It's polite to cover up. Restaurants are
pretty chill with what you wear as long as you look smart and elegant there
shouldn't be a problem. I saw some very revealing outfits in Dubai but it
clearly wasn't a problem but if you want to feel comfortable I would just make
sure your boobs or bum are not HANGING out. When we visited the mall we covered
our shoulders but both had longish bottoms on, but there was people walking
with bare legs and shoulders.
It wasn't as strict as I thought it was going to be we were
pretty drunk a lot of the time and there were no dramas. I saw no police and no
people fighting which is norm in London. Obviously don't be running around the
street drunk as shit because that will cause a problem, but once you’re in the
cab its fine.
I thought Dubai was going to be SOOO much more expensive
than it was. Food and drink was roughly the same as England but it wasn't a
problem. Most restaurants our bill came to around £50/60 each (food and wine)
with the exception of Nobu and Hakkasan.
I can't lie Dubai is stupid hot and we only went in May.
It's bearable in the day but only if you keep hydrated and are the pool or sea.
The evenings were fine it was humid but everywhere is air-conned so it's not a
problem.
If you are thinking of visiting Dubai I would think about
going between October and May! I hope you love all my pictures and this blog
was handy!
Much Love GC xx
